Nothing like going out of the year with a bang, huh? I had planned on a quiet December, but then life happened, and SVV and I wound up catching a flight pretty last minute on the first of the month. So much for staying homebound!
That set the pace for the next 30 days, and before you know it, December had come and gone.
We stayed in hotels and rentals 13 nights this month, yet it feels like we weren’t home at all! Here’s why…
HIGHS
We went to Washington (D.C., that is). For a Christmas campaign with the Fairmont! I couldn’t have asked for a better work project: Fairmont Hotels and Christmas are two of my favorite things, so combine them in the nation’s capital, and it was a truly magical weekend.
I took SVV to a Garth Brooks concert. It was our second Garth concert together, but first where we were almost on the ground level. Great seats, great show, great Garth.
We holiday’d in Breckenridge. This wasn’t a work trip, but rather my mom’s Christmas gift to all of us (she’s one generous lady!). We spent eight days in Colorado, and it was a great way to close out 2017. And even though I was there for fun, we captured a whole lot of photo and video content from the slopes, so stay tuned for some more Breck planning posts.
We partnered with Google Fiber. In case you missed it, this Nashville murals post might have been one of my most colorful to date! Not to mention, one of the most fun to shoot.
We secured a half dozen new projects for 2018. I feel like all of December was phone call after phone call after meeting after pitch, but it paid off because we have some FUN collaborations on the docket for next year!
LOWS
None that I can think of! There are always a few idiots one must deal with when an entrepreneur (and there seemed to be a surplus of those this year…), but I’m getting better at tuning them out. I’m just grateful to be healthy, thriving with work and projects (and a husband!) I love, and ready for 2018 to kick off!
With the mother freakin’ flu!!
Hate that I passed it on to your husband.. who I love, as well!
Sorry =(
A month without lows is a month to be celebrated! I loved your instagram photos of Breckenridge. It looks like a beautiful place! I visited Edinburgh for the second time this year, and I realised how in love I still am with that place 🙂
JEALOUS to Edinburgh. It’s been nearly five years since I’ve been back! I’m glad you feel the same way as I do about it =)
I spent the last week in Paris. It was rainy and cold, but the pastries were well worth it!
Not as cold as here, I bet! It’s been single digits in TN (a novelty!) so of course our heat picks that time to break. Brrrr!
I’m excited to see what 2018 brings your way, lady! Cheers!
Craft beer with you, one can only hope!
Went skiing on a sheet of ice in Oregon! It was better than not skiing. Happy New Year to you!
Ha! Hope you didn’t fall =) We were lucky to go to Breck when we did as they had zero snow until our first night in town, thank God!
HNY, Kristina!
Thankfully didn’t fall! It would have been a cheese-grating disaster if anyone had! Your trip to Breck looked great! So happy you nailed the window! Happiest New Year to you!
Happy New Year Kristin!
Ha! It’s 2018. I can’t even remember how December was, anymore!
I usually don’t travel in December, but relented when Visit Hamburg asked me to join them for a few days, so I did!
Having said that, I spent December going from one Christmas Market to the other, and generally winding the year down. I also had some very excellent news, but I can’t talk about it until the end of January!
Happy 2018 to you, Victoria! Christmas markets in Europe are on my bucket list for one of these years 😉
AND I WANT TO HEAR THE EXCELLENT NEWS, PLEASE!!!!
Happy New Year to you!
