I may be a creative entrepreneur—and crazy homeowner attempting to rehab an 1800’s Victorian lady with my much craftier other half—but my DIY skill set definitely leaves room for improvement. Which is why I was so pleased as punch to take 12th Table’s Fleurs & Fizz floral workshop last night.
I met Megan Proby and Caroline Jones earlier this spring through a fellow magazine pal and immediately fell in love with their artistic flair as evidenced through their gorgeous Instagram account—these girls have mad style, and I’m tempted to get married again (or just throw one massive soiree) just so I can get them to plan/organize/design said event for me.
Last night, my co-worker Sierra and I braved the rain and headed down to Acme Feed & Seed’s rooftop for 12th Table’s new floral workshop, Fleurs & Fizz. The ladies’ answer to Sips & Strokes—and with a much better name, to boot—Fleurs aims to allow its participants to let their own flower-arranging skills blossom.

I definitely felt more comfortable by the night’s end, thanks to Caroline’s tutelage—and perhaps the free-flowing bubbles gave me a much-needed boost in confidence—as I learned how to properly snip, shape, and style a vase full of branches and buds. When SVV and I return from Virginia next week, we’ll be in full-on gardening mode, and I can’t wait to be able to cull my own flowers and try my hand at arranging from the comfort of my own home.

Fleurs & Fizz costs $150 a person—which includes bottomless champagne, nibbles, all blooms, a vase, excellent company and the finished product to take home with you (plus an ingredient card to help you remember what flowers you used)—and the next one will take place at Miel in June 10, for any of you Nashvillians who, like me, are wanting to learn how to artfully fill your home with sweet-smelling just in time for spring.
Who of my local friends wants to join me for round two?

So pretty!!! How fun!

totally instagram-worthy event! the fizz part of the event would probably help me feel less self-conscious about putting together a bouquet. 😉
everything, everyone’s beautiful. ♥
Reading your post and looking at your images assure me I’m in Spring time. They are so real.
