You’d almost think they elected him for their own president.
Rather, Rwanda is the first country in which women in government comprise the majority (at 55 percent). Empowering women in Africa, for the win!

We experienced that all over Africa. It was kind of nice to have people in love with America for once. My favorite is the kangas that the women wear with Obama’s face on it and the phrase “Yes We Can” in Swahili.
Just yesterday in a Mozambique cafe, as soon as another patron found out that I’m American, the first question he asked was, “What do you think of Obama?” I gave a favorable review, and then he felt like he’d been cleared to gush. Because boy, did he gush. He said Obama is proof, to him, that America is the best country in the world.
And then I walked out and saw a guy carrying a black gym bag with OBAMA printed in white letters.
It’s so nice to finally be an American abroad and be loved rather than vilified.
Go O!!!
Only a man as awesome as Obama could steal the letter O from Oprah.
I’m a BIG fan of Rwanda! Love that they’re allowing women to lead. 🙂
So cool to see your pictures. Thanks for sharing!!!
Love it.
Unfortunately he’s not as popular back in the US right now. You’re missing all the hubbub ever since the health care plan passed.
I love this. Thanks for sharing. In particular I adore the Yes We Can – Photo Studio.
I’ve had many people ask me what I think of Obama while in ZA. Which, by the way, is great. Time is almost up though. You’ll love it here!
YES WE CAN!!! 🙂
Guess we can all stop pretending to be Canadians for a while!
