A Day Late and a Dollar Short

I had no overwhelming desire to write an ooshy-gushy post about my mom yesterday, because a) she knows how much I love her without it, b) I did that last year and, well, my feelings still hold true! and c) for the first time in years we’re actually in the same geographical locale to celebrate together!

My dad failed to see that that was intended to be a mother-daughter picture.

We honored the occasion the way any good Mother’s Day should be spent. Dinner at Red Bar in Grayton Beach…

He’s the actual reason all 14 of us have convened in Florida for the week, having suffered survived four long years in med school and finally hooded a real, grown-up doctor on Friday. Wouldn’t you want him behind your scalpel?

…followed by gratuitous photo shoots of all.

Sadly, it was my mom’s first Mother’s Day without her own mama, our beloved Dede.

But this little gal’s first with her mom.

Circle of life, I suppose.
