Hi, I came by way of SAJ =) Actually, what really drew my attention was:
1. You’re a travel writer. I happen to be very good friends with somebody who is also a travel writer. When I lived abroad (France), I took a trip to Morocco and met up with her and saw first-hand that what she does is difficult and it’s work. For years before that, I thought EH! Travel-writing, how hard can it be?! But she was occupied from sun-up to sun-down and when I didn’t have the energy to deal with one more minute awake, she had to sit down and write down notes and e-mail it off. When I got back to my apartment in France, I couldn’t wait to spent a few days asleep after all that running around. And that’s when I got the e-mail that said “I’ll be leaving for Japan in two days, but I wanted to send you this article. I wrote it on the plane and I thought you might enjoy seeing what will be published about our trip in Morocco.” And ever since, I have had ALOT of respect for her line of work.
2. You lived in Holland. My mother lived in Bunnik and Utrecht and although my Opa passed away a few years ago, my Oma still lives there. Well, she lives in Maarsen anyway. That is so cool on your part.
