It’s not you, it’s me.

No really.

I needed a bit of a break from all things non-Twitter-related (a girl can’t be expected to go completely cold turkey, now can she?). And I know, I know, you all think all I do is vacation. Rrrright.

But that’s neither here nor there. Post-work trip to the Arctic, I decided to hang around Norway a bit and have been having the loveliest time with my Norwegian friend Ellen. More on her sublime generosity and our chance meeting another day soon.

There’s been nature, beauty and, most importantly, soul-cleansing rejuvenation. My mind, which has recently been muddled by a doctor-prescribed cocktail of Xanax, Cymbalta and Ambien (ahhh, the truth revealed!), thanks me. And you for sticking around while I neglect this space by posting little more than some hastily-edited together video and photo content in the past month or so. I think I’m ready to return for good soon. Besides, I’ll be home for seven! whole! weeks!—only leaving San Francisco to attend a wedding in SoCal—which for me, might as well be a millennium. And I couldn’t be more excited for this little deviation from the norm, if, for nothing else, to remind my fiance I still love and need him around!

Not that you missed me anyway, what with all the BlogHer and TBEX madness (and apparently something about a baby, an errant elbow and swag-hags…?) floating around the blogosphere.

Still. See you soon.

Until then, here are some alternate reading sources that delighted me on today’s seven-hour nettlesome drive at 40mph through countless Norwegian villages en route from Geirangerfjorden to Oslo. (Obviously, I wasn’t the one doing the driving, just the blog reading via Crackberry.) Enjoy.

-Andi retroactively recaps our covert trip to Cuba two years ago, starting here and here and here (and more to come, daily! it was quite the trip). I fully intended to but never quite got around to writing anything about that journey, save one brief Photo Friday to Havana: perhaps because I only launched this space four days after our return—or more accurately, I was still terrified the 70 Cohibas we smuggled back over the border would be detected. (The IRS can’t nail you two years after the fact…can they? CAN THEY?)

-My darling Moose has landed a much-deserved new job. Head over and join the congratulatory cyber-party!

-Jemima’s baaaaack. With the news that she got knocked up (which I may have spilled last Friday, oops). Still, while I (confession) often get bored of reading about pregnancies on the Web (except for Regan, who cracks me up with posts like this), I have to admit I found Jemima’s laments entertaining.

-My cute-as-a-button, one-year-old niece McKayla is officially a threat to society. Or her parents at least. No one else may find this interesting except our family, but hey, a dose of adorable regardless.

Wish you’d been at BlogHer! I didn’t know what the heck I was doing there… could have used your guidance! Crossing fingers we can do the scuba thing later this year…

  • July 29, 2009

That’s a great photo and I headed over to Moose’s blog to hear all about her Twitter-found job!

Glad you’re getting some down time. But that could be up time for us. Yea. When I read your tweets I always want more. So please post soon about your most recent travels.

I love Twitter. “Hey, look! She’s in Oslo now!” “Now she’s in the Arctic Circle, doing HEINOUS THINGS TO BABY SEALS!” (Heh.) (I kid! Kristin does nothing but kind and generous things to baby seals!)

I love that you’re getting the relaxing time you need. We’ll be here when you’re ready friend. And until then, I’ll keep you with your adventures via Twitter!

Awww, thanks for the shout out! Wasn’t expecting that when I stopped by to see if you had posted any pics of the polar bears. 🙂

I’m slowly working on puting up more entries on the Cuba adventure, but have been super busy trying to plan my trip to Brazil. All of the great hotels are already sold out for NYE. GRRR!

Glad to hear that your trip, although was work related, still provided you with some R&R. I can’t wait to hear all about it. My friend went to Norway last year and her pics were gorgeous. Have a safe journey home (hopefully with little jetlag). XO

Wow, if that photograph is anything to go by, then this must be all the break you need. Enjoy the rest of your soul-cleansing time away.

Happy recharging! Everybody needs it, at least once in a while. (Sometimes twice.)

I have to confess on your second to last one that I agree as well. Here’s to being exciting if that ever happens to us! Absolutely LOVE that picture of you. So fitting for the space you’re in. I’m going to have to go find you on Twitter, and expand my Twitterability a little more. xoxo
