Kristin, great website you have here! I just stumbled across it, and wonder why it took me so long to find. I am very fond of your above bio with simply the photo, though your extensive written bio is quite impressive. Keep up the good work, I'm a fan!

WOW! That's so cool that you know Dave. My mom has told me all about him and his travels. My mom does live in DC. Could I ask why you did not share your Dog Meets World experience in your blog? We are always looking for new travelers and ways to get the word out about the charity. I know you have a strong following and a mention in your blog would be greatly appreciated. No pressure just a friendly suggestion! Thanks, Brittany P.S. I'm so jealous of your experience with the gorillas!

Brittany, I actually do know about Dog Meets World! My blogging pal Dave (of Go Backpacking) and I were in Rwanda last spring, and I guess he had met up with your mom beforehand? Does she live in D.C.? Anyway, he had the dog and the printer, and we got to use it all over Rwanda. It was so touching to see the children's reactions and such a cool project. I'm taking a bit of a break with international travel for awhile, but would definitely love to be a part of it next time I'm traveling to a relevant location.

Hey Kristin,
I'm new to the blogging/tumblr community but I have really enjoyed seeing all your fabulous pictures and reading your interesting stories. I think you definitely need to check out the charity Dog Meets World (www.dogmeetsworld.org). My mom started this charity a few years ago. The goal of the charity is to give children in need pictures of themselves. I'm sure through your travels you realize that children of need do not own pictures of themselves or if they do, only a very few. We do this by helping travelers get the needed equipment (battery operated printer, film, etc) and tools for giving pictures. Each child holds Foto (dog mascot) while getting their picture taken. I was lucky enough to get to participate in Dog Meets World while I was in Haiti. Giving a child their first picture is a truly memorable and amazing feeling. Please check out the website www.dogmeetsworld.org. I would love to hear your thoughts about the charity/website and I know it would be a great addition to your experience on your next adventure! Please email me at Belane110@yahoo.com. Thanks so much, Brittany

Hi Sam!

You're right, I don't have any Ireland posts on here. That's mainly because my visits to Ireland (in 2003) were well before I started my travel blog (in 2007), and sadly I haven't been back since then. I don't remember a whole lot of details, but I do recall getting a map at the visitor's center and taking the "U2 trail" as I was a big fan of the band then, and what do you know--we actually SAW the Edge. That was my highlight of my time there =)

Dublin was a lot of fun, but if you have time to take side trips, I'd highly recommend Galway (about three to four hours from Dublin by train). Galway and the Cliffs of Moher were my favorite part of the whole trip.

Sorry I can't be of more help! Try the forums on Frommers.com and LonelyPlanet.com. I find a lot of good trip-planning advice on both sites.

Hi - I love your site, and have been stopping by regularly for a few years now. Just wanted to know if you had any good tips for Dublin, or could point me in the right direction. I didn't notice any Dublin posts in your site during a search. I'm traveling there in Feb (cold, but cheap!) with a college friend for a week.

Thanks!
