Enrichment Voyages Giveaway Winner!

In case it wasn’t obvious, my May Enrichment Voyage was one of the most fun trips I’ve taken in years—if not ever—even though I was working (a technicality).

Enrichment VoyagesSince I haven’t shared enough photos of the experience (ha), I thought I’d leave you with a couple behind-the-scenes glimpses of my favorite people and moments on board in hopes that it will convince you, too, to go on a future voyage.

Enrichment VoyagesAnd, of course, there is one person who will be going on the ship this December—with a guest!—for 25 days, courtesy of Institute for Shipboard Education and my recent five-year anniversary giveaway. That person is…

#117 Amy Weinstein!

Enrichment Voyages winner

(Silly me thought it would be more “authentic” to tally all the results by hand, so rather than using Rafflecopter, I (naively) went through every entry to verify that each person did what they said they would, threw out duplicate submissions and logged all of them into an Excel spreadsheet in the order they were submitted. There were a total of 919 eligible entries. I’m not going to lie, it took the better part of two days! Next time, I’m totally taking the easy route and using Rafflecopter.)

Congratulations, Amy! I’m glad you’ll get to return to your previous home. I’ll contact you soon with how to redeem your prize.

Enrichment VoyagesThanks for playing everyone—stayed tuned, as you never know when another cool opportunity to go aboard the MV Explorer like this may arise!

Enrichment VoyagesDisclosure: I have not ever been compensated in any way, shape, or form to write any Enrichment Voyages or Semester at Sea posts—or run this giveaway. I do it all for pure love of the program and will continue to do so as long as I’m involved with ISE! Just so we’re all clear here.

  1. Ahhhh!!!! I love love love this!! Even though i didn’t win, i really enjoyed reliving all that fun!! Thanks again friend for the most amazing adventure ever!!

  2. Confession: I had a dream over the weekend that I won and my boss wouldn’t let me take the time off and I had to choose between this trip and my job, and ultimately I chose my job because of the health insurance and I always hated myself for turning down this opportunity (because in my dream I was also 95 years old and talking about this giveaway as, literally, “the one that got away.”)

So, while I’m bummed I didn’t win, I am also SO glad my horrible dream didn’t come true either! (And I just asked my boss, casually, what he thought of my taking a month off with a few details as to why and his eyes boggled out of his head and told me he’d donate vacation hours for me to have such an experience…so much for “the one that got away.”)

    Congrats Amy!

  7. I am wondering how stable the MV Explorer is -some reviews mention people getting seasick much of the time. Did you find this to be an issue?
We are thinking of going on the June enrichment cruise to Scandinavia, Russia etc but are worried about this issue.
    Thanks
    Marg
