City Dog (Goes Country): Vol. XI

Remember me? Ella here. It’s been so long since I was allowed asked to blog that I nearly forgot how to type!

Luckily, my paws remember the motions.

Fear not, faithful followers, I’m still here…and cuter than ever, I might add.

I’ve just been super busy doing my thing and enjoying being around my birth parents, not to mention having my real parents back on dry land.

I’ve officially gone country, leaving the mean streets of San Francisco behind and embracing the rural lifestyle of the South.

I like it better here: lots more space in which to roam, plus…there are camels!

As well as a lot of dogs in these parts…seven in my household to be exact. Me, birth mom Katey, birth dad Kobe, half-uncles/half-brothers Kruzer and K-Oz, crotchety old Kasper…

And a new guy. Which leads me to the latest addition….

So the big news, as you may have seen if you follow Mom on Instagram—pretty sure she takes more photos of the rugrat than me these days—is that I got a little brother, Knox, as of Jan. 5. He’s OK, I guess, for a runt. (I’d say he bears a strong likeness to his older sister.)

That’s what he looked like as a wee tot, a little white mouse if you will. And then, slowly, he began to resemble a proper dog.

Here he is last weekend, trying to get all up in my grill.

Cute, but also quite the handful. Don’t let the innocent face fool you.

I had another sibling who was stillborn, and Dad spent an hour trying to revive him (going as far as to administer puppy CPR), but it didn’t work. It was a sad day. Anyway, enough with the waterworks.

Being a big sister is hard work, y’all. I’m expected to follow him around the house, making sure he doesn’t poop on the floor or shred up the furniture, and I can barely keep up.

I’d much rather be napping.

Or loving on my monkey.

Or digging in the laundry.

Harumph. So what else is going on? Well, I got a summer shave, going from this ball of fluff:

To this raggedy thing:

To this pile of discarded hair.

Don’t worry, I still look like a Muppet on top.

And today ends Tax Season, meaning my duties in the office are officially done. Good thing, too: Numbers exhaust me.

Of course, the big excitement in my life is that I’m finally being permitted to leave Tennessee again, when Mom, Dad and I go on a little road trip this week. I mean, I haven’t left the county since my grandparents took me on vacation to Georgia last October…which is pretty much a fourth of my life! How am I to maintain my reputation as a road warrior blogatrix if I’m stuck at home all the time.

Till next time.

xo,

Ella

      Ella

Natalie, I invented Cute Overload. (Not really, but I wish I had…along with Pinterest and the Kong.)

This is too cute, I want to kidnap her :p

      Ella

No need to kidnap–I will come willingly. My wiles just aren’t appreciated here at home, especially with that puppy to compete with.

Ella, so glad you finally got online. Your parents are so stingy with that. I prefer the new do to the bow thing. Have a great road trip and enjoy the wind in your face.

  • April 17, 2012

You be nice to your new brother!

      Siblings are overrated.

That puppy is so cute that I’m actually afraid she might cause cancer.

Ella, please don’t ever stop blogging! Seeing your adorable face is the highlight of my day. I just want to squeeze you!

I missed Ella! I have to admit I almost thought the new baby was cuter (I’m sorry, E), but then she reclaimed her throne with the legs splayed behind he in the laundry pic. Lola does the same pose, and I love it.

Didn’t think I could fall in love with another dog but Knox is a cutie!! Loved hearing from Ella again – I’ve missed her!!!

I totally missed that you had a son! 😉 Congrats!!!!!!! Knox is adorable. So sorry about the stillborn. 🙁

    SO CUTE.

My wife isn’t a traveller, so she doesn’t read many blogs, but she asks me all the time if there is another “Ella post”. When I saw this one, I let her look at it on my computer, which I lost for 20 minutes, with and “OMG” after almost every photo!
