Win a Two-Night Stay at the Hyatt (Again!)

I’ve never been much for hotel loyalty programs, as I never seem to stay in any one place frequently enough to make it worth it. Well, that’s changed recently. I took the plunge and joined both the Hyatt Gold Passport program and the Starwood Preferred Guest—both programs with enough member benefits to justify being loyal—so now my loyalty resides with Hyatt, followed by the W (or Four Points Sheraton) if there’s no Hyatt within close distance of where I’m staying.

In fact! I’ll be staying at the Park Hyatt in Ho Chi Minh on the first night of my honeymoon (sound the trumpets!) this coming Sunday. What better way to kick my honeymoon off in style before traipsing through the wilds of the jungle the following two weeks, huh?

As I’m sure you know (you’re no dummies), anyone can join the Hyatt Gold Passport program (go! do it right now…I’ll wait), and through June 30, for every two stays, you’ll earn one free awards night or 5,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points, your choice. (That’s a pretty killer deal. I was a member of InterContinental’s loyalty program for a fleeting moment and 10 nights didn’t even land me half a night free!) Awards nights can be enjoyed without blackout dates between now and August 31, 2010, and bonus points can be redeemed any time toward free nights, upgrades or airline miles. Even better, there’s no limit to how many you can earn. So, have at it: Stay every night in June if you please and earn 15 free nights!

But! You’re here for the goods, huh? You want to know how you can stay for free, before even cashing in on the Big Welcome Back promotion, eh? Easy peasy. I’ve recently partnered with Hyatt, meaning they will (hopefully) stop by here from time to time for giveaways and such promotions in the future, so all you have to do is leave a comment below telling me where you’d use your two free nights if you were to win (randomly selected, as always). You can stay at any Hyatt property—Park, Place or regular—anywhere in the world. So put your thinking caps on and get back to me.

Contest ends Friday, May 28 at 5pm EST, as I have a honeymoon to get going on! And Hyatt has generously allowed me to pick TWO winners. Per the normal contest rules, Tweet and/or blog this post, then (this is key!) come back and leave me a second comment with your link, and you’ll get an extra entry (or two) for your trouble.

    Zurich!

  2. Casey Carter says:

If I had two free nights at any Hyatt around the world, I would definitely go to Paris. Oui, it sounds cliche, but my significant other has never been and I’m fairly certain he’d enjoy my constant conversations about the city of lights a lot more if he understand what all the hoopla is about. It’s been five years since I studied there at the Sorbonne and I would love nothing more than to return and stay at a Hayatt in the city I love with the one I love.

J’adore Paris. J’adore your blog. Pick moi :)

  3. I would stay at the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki in Greece! It is on my bucket list and I really hope to travel there someday!

  4. Eli says:

I would absolutely love to head down to brazil this winter and this would be perfect!

  5. Mariel says:

I’m actually taking a vacation to your home base, San Francisco, this August, and a free couple of nights at the Hyatt there would be absolutely stellar!

  6. If I were to win, I would use the two free nights to stay at the Hyatt in Key West! My little sister is about to turn 21, so it would be great to be able to spend some sister time getting some sun and doing the Duval crawl!

  7. Kristabella says:

Oh man, anywhere in the world? So. Many. Choices!
Since I’ve never really been overseas, I think I would go to London or Paris.

  8. Jen Garcia says:

  18. Justine says:

I’ll bite… I’m going to be in Amsterdam this summer and staying with a friend for the most part, but my sister is visiting for one weekend and I’d love to do it up in style. That IS a great loyalty promotion too- I am mostly loyal to Starwood/Kimpton programs, but two for one is a great return!

Definitely would spend my two nights at the Park Hyatt Goa Resort, in Goa, India ! Goa is definitely on my top ten travel list (as are like 800 other places in india)

  25. Stephanie says:

I would definitely use the two nights to stay at a swanky Hyatt when I’m in South East Asia in January/February. After months of backpacking shabbiness I can’t even imagine how nice it would feel!

  26. bryan says:

I’d take my wife to NYC (we’re in the suburbs of Chicago), because I love it more than anywhere but haven’t been able to afford the time to share it with her. And without this post here, it couldn’t happen!

  36. Lauren Lagarde says:

The only places I’ve traveled to in my entire life are New York, Miami and Dallas (once when i was 13.) Its tragic, I know. So with two free nights at the Hyatt I could branch out and take a quick weekend visit to San Fransico or Chicago. I’ve heard both are amazing cities and hope to visit them soon! Pick me please K and help me expand my travel horizons!

    I tweeted too! http://twitter.com/laurenmlagarde

  37. ainsley says:

I would take my mum to New York.

  38. If I won, I would stay at the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort and Casino. It would be super rad to win this, because I just got married (at my house) and we have to postpone the “wedding” (which was supposed to take place in September for friends and family) and “honeymoon”, because my hubs got injured on the job and is fighting the denied Workers Comp claim. It’s been a weird start to a marriage – a stressful start – but this could totally get us away for several days someplace nice where we could relax and forget about lawyers and court dates and severely reduced income!

  50. Bethany says:

At this point, and I’m not really sure why, I’d go to Spain!

  52. April says:

The Maldives… I’m dying to get there when we head to SE Asia for our own honeymoon (in January). As of now, we cannot afford to stay there!

  53. Christy says:

Oooh, I’m planning a trip to South America. This would come in so handy! Plus I enjoy Hyatt properties.

  54. Carrisa says:

I think perhaps I would want to use them in Seattle. I’ve always wanted to go there and have friends who need me to visit them!

  55. margosita says:

How about Hawaii….I could totally go for that right now!

  57. Carrisa says:
  58. Amanda says:

I would go to the Hyatt Regency Crystal City (VA, outside Washington, D.C.). It seems like an odd pick, but I grew up in Alexandria, VA and while I love living in NYC (15 years now), I’m suddenly very homesick. My mom passed away in ’93 and my Dad remarried a few years later and moved clear across the country to Washington State, and while I’m very happy for him, I really miss “HOME.” I’d love to take my new husband (of 2 months) down to VA and show him where I came from. :)

    Thanks!

    Amanda

I’d use the points towards a stay at the Grand Hyatt Kuwaii, though Goa and Sydney would be on my dream list!

  67. Alyce says:

Paris! I’ve got it on my brain. Though I don’t know if I could afford the rest of the trip. So maybe Hyatt at Olive 8, in Seattle?

Have a wonderful honeymoon. I can’t wait to see pictures!

  68. Sarah says:

Definitely New York City. Last time I was there I was a kid with a school group and my partner’s never been. Can’t afford a flight to Europe at the moment, so New York it is! Not sure if the Andaz hotels are included in this, but the Andaz Fifth Avenue would be my top choice. Followed by the Grand Hyatt New York

  69. Mary H. says:

  70. -R- says:

I’d use it in San Francisco when I go visit my dad later this year.

I would stay in the Hyatt in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. My family is from Trinidad and while I lived there for a year when I was young, I haven’t been back as an adult, and don’t remember my time living there when I was little. It’s always been a dream of mine to go on a vacation there with my mom to reconnect but also learn more about heritage and culture and see all of the places where my mom grew up. It would be a great connection that we would have together that I would never forget.

  89. Emily says:

all of my family is there, both sides within a few blocks of each other, and it’s kind of a po’dunk place where there are no places to stay… except it’s on the water. and so Hyatt put up a GORGEOUS property a few years back and i’ve been dying to stay there ever since. it would be amazing to stay there and get to see my famliy (and of course hit the links too!)

I would love to stay at the Hyatt in Amsterdam, if I cant make it to the Netherlands than a trip to Montreal would be greatly improved by a weekend at the Hyatt!

London? Can’t say I’ll officially know until I win! ;)

  172. Steph says:
  173. Jason says:

Paris, of course. And happy wedding!! xoxo.

  174. greyfavorite says:

So, this is not so exciting, but I am traveling a ton for work now and am looking for a hotel I can trust to be every where I go. So, I think I’d use my two nights for my next work trip – which could be to one of 14 cities on the east coast from New Jersey to Florida. If the hotel passes my Three Requirements for a Happy Hotel Stay ( 1) food and drink on site? 2) bed linens hypo-allergenic? 3) mattress firm? ) then I may have a new go to place to stay, every time I travel for work.

  175. Emily says:

New York City! I have a best friend and brother in the city and I need to visit them!

  176. Kelly says:

Done annnnnd done. As I said in my post, 2 nights free at a hotel would come in super handy for us blushing budget brides.

  182. Moose says:

New Orleans (the hankering just won’t leave and I’m not sure why) or Spain (because I hear it’s nice and also they have tapas).

I’m going to win, I’m going to win, I’m going to win…is my voodoo mind meld working yet?

  194. MJ says:

  195. Vicki says:

Ooh fun! I would love to win as it would come in really handy for our big trip to California this Autumn!

  196. Vicki says:

  210. Carma says:

We’re planning a quick trip to Vegas in June….so I’d have to say Nevada!

  211. Angela says:

As cliche as it sounds, Paris.

  212. Jennifer says:

My best girlfriend in California is having a breast tumor removed today and I would use it to stay at the hotel when I go out to San Fran this summer to help watch her 2 girls (who are 2 months and 2 years old) while she is recovering from Chemo/Radiation. Not a sexy reason but it would be helpful to have a place to escape myself since I also have 2 kiddos here in Virginia.

BTW I really love your site! going to become a reader ;)

  213. Kim says:

We’re planning to visit GA this summer. I’d use it at the Savannah Hyatt.

  215. Amy says:

If I could stay anyewhere in the world…. I would probably head to Chile to see my BFF get married this summber – in style :)

But – due to lack of funds I’d probably just make the 6 hour journey to Chicago and enjoy one of my favorite cities in the good old U S of A.

  216. Kristin says:

I would love to Park Hyatt Chicago. I have spent the last five months ill, resulting in surgery that left me sick with complications. I am nine weeks post-op and undergoing another procedure tomorrow. Recently diagnosed with a challenging autoimmune disease, I feel my hubby and I can use a huge break. While Chicago is not an exotic destination like Fiji, etc, to me it is home. That is where I grew up and spending two nights would be like being a world away from my recent troubles. Nothing like being back where you grew up to make all your problems and pains disappear :)

  217. Ummmmm, where would I go??? DUHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Like Africa, or probably downtown Nashville so I wouldn’t have to get a cab. http://twitter.com/ahsodesigns

    Beaver Creek Hyatt……snow skiing

  221. Karen says:

Where wouldn’t I go? I’ve been itching to get to Puerto Rico, Greece, France and Italy. I’d have to put the cities in a hat and pick one. Or ask my boyfriend who gets some decision making rights (for the first time ever!).

  222. Lauren says:

Totally torn between the Park Hyatt Istanbul, Park Hyatt Milan, Hyatt Regency Paris, and maaaaaaaaybe the Hyatt Regency Trinidad.

  223. Patsy says:

We’ve been wanting to take a girls’ trip to NYC. We’d definitely have to stay at the Hyatt.

  224. Dena says:

I’d have to go back to Hyatt Maui

  225. Jenn says:

Buenos Aires! Because when I make it to South America I will be travelling on a backpacker budget…. a Hyatt would be a nice treat :)

  226. Julie says:

    South Africa…or Egypt. I can’t decide!

  227. Colleen says:

Anywhere but here. I’m coming up on summer time in Phoenix – time to plan an escape from the heat!

  230. Mike says:

    Park Hyatt Zurich

NYC, for sure! No matter how many times I visit that city, I always long to go back.

  240. Jessica Louisignau says:

NYC, most likely. It would mean one less night spent in the in-laws house.

  241. Dee says:

Not exactly romantic, but I’d choose Dallas. I have friends there that I haven’t seen in a while.

  242. k says:

Somewhere in California. Cheap plane ticket, free hotel – that would be my type of budget vacay!

  243. Patti Wright says:

I’d love to stay at the Hyatt in Thessalonika, Greece!

  244. Jack says:

    NYC

  245. Anne says:

  247. Lindsey says:
  248. Lia says:

I’ve been having fantasies about visiting Amsterdam and Copenhagen (I’ve never been) lately – I’d go there!

  249. esselle says:

This summer I’m going to be hitting the trails for my inexpensive (cheap implies some mayjah lack-of-quality) entry-level-job-funded backpacking excursion to Turkey, Egypt and yonder. If I could choose two nights ANYWHERE… I would have to go with the two nights in the ISTANBUL Hyatt.

I mean, hi. This is already my dream-come-true, may as well add on a sprinkle of unicorn-status-hope.

    check it. http://esselle.tumblr.com/post/638554377/win-two-nights-at-any-hyatt-hotel-uh-yes-please

    NYC

    Paris

  253. Maggie says:

Ooh, what a fun contest! I’d love to have a two-night stay at the Hyatt in Buenos Aires during my round-the-world trip, which I’m starting in July. A little bit of luxury would be a wonderful way to rejuvenate these backpacker bones.

  254. The Hyatt Regency at the Embarcadero in SF was my first experience with Hyatt as a kid, and I’d love to return there for a few days!

  255. Susan says:

I’m thinking a weekend trip to Santa Fe would be made all the much sweeter with a free hotel stay at the new Hyatt Place!

  256. Natalie says:

London, England, United Kingdom; it’s a place that my husband has always wanted to visit, and I’ve always wanted to return to (one day in London is NEVER ENOUGH!!!!). We’re planning a trip to London anyway, and two nights in the Hyatt’s Andaz Liverpool Street would be excellent!

  257. Katie says:

California! Still haven’t decided which city yet, but I am definitely West coast bound this summer.

  258. Kayla C says:
  259. Meghan says:

My parents are taking a trip this fall for their 40th wedding anniversary and I would LOVE to gift them 2 nights in a lovely hotel. They truly are the best parents (although the Lunas look pretty killer too) and this would tickle them pink! I looked at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome and it looks amazing!

  260. Grand Hyatt Cairo would be my choice of destination. Go big or go home, right?
I retweeted on https://twitter.com/dweebo01 and mentioned you on my blog at http://thewayfaringpeacock.tumblr.com/

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  261. Jonathan says:

It might be time for a trip to Ireland to celebrate my new daughter Clare’s birth.

  262. Haidang Nguyen says:

One more blessing please! Crossing my fingers for the HYATT in St. Lucia, Caribbean.

  263. Haidang Nguyen says:

    Hope I will win!

  264. Terry Ward says:

Recently stayed at the new Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach. All suites with full kitchens. Crossing fingers and toes the oil spill never makes its way there, as the sand was so white, water so blue and dolphins everywhere!

  265. Jennifer says:

I would stay at the Century Plaza Hyatt in Los Angeles, because one of my dear friends is getting married in October over my birthday weekend…. but I can’t afford to be there :( I really want to go! So, if I could take the 2 free nights I’d be there and have a fun birthday celebrating my friend’s wedding!

  266. Patricia says:

NYC! I can’t ever spend enough time there!

  269. Liv says:

    Buenos Aires!
After I finish my bachelor in July, I’ll be backpacking through Asia & Latin America for a year and think a two night stay at the Hyatt would be an amazing change of scenery during the world trip!

I would use my two free nights for my vacation in Hawaii this summer. my beau, a native hawaiian, and i are traveling there to meet his entire family and as such we are staying in his sisters extra bedroom for two weeks. A short stay at a sweet sweet hotel would be a paradise in paradise.

  273. alishan says:

I would pick the Hyatt in Fiji or the Hyatt in Dubai. I can’t wait to travel the world and see the sights before having kids and those are two places on our before baby bucket list. I can’t wait to make memories to share for the rest of our lives and those would be a great place to start.

    pick meeee! :)

  274. Richard R. says:

Sydney’s Park Hyatt is a veritable palace that I would stay in once and then stay again. What a hotel! What a location!

  275. Christina says:

    Tokyo.

  276. Kristen says:

Grand Hyatt Kauai! My husband and I went to Kauai before we had children – my kids, now 11 and 7, want to go, and I would love to take them!
