I just returned from my month-long African adventures last night and, following a 13-hour slumber, am up and at ‘em tackling wedding tasks (37 days!) and deadlines galore. (And tending to an injured SVV, who had the nerve to go and get surgery and a metal plate inserted into his hand the day before my return, following a traumatic motorcycle wreck in the Mojave Desert, and now sports a cast from shoulder to fingertip—on his right arm. He’s always one for impeccable timing.)
So, it’s convenient that instead of having to scrape up some half-hearted, jetlag-induced original content today, I can direct you over to my pal Stuart’s website, as he featured me as his “Broke-Ass of the Week” (a big honor, I’d say!).
As you can read on Stuart’s site, we met in San Francisco three years ago and both found our way to (back, in his case) San Francisco around the same time. He’s quite the celebrity in these parts—I’ve yet to meet a local who doesn’t know of his site or books (which are sold online or in Urban Outfitters should you want a budget guide to this great city of ours)—so I was flattered when he asked to feature me on his site.
Head on over yonder and check it out, will ya?

So now we know where you are going on your honeymoon! Or was that already announced and I’m just behind. Oh, and what a great picture!
Welcome home! Here’s to a quick recovery for SVV.
I just went over to your pal Stuart’s site. He’s hilarious! To have coined and called himself “Editor-in-Cheap” is genius! And I thought I was a genius when I called a friend of mine, Robert, a “Cheap keBob”
Oh, and here’s to a speedy Scott recovery. In time for the wedding!
OMG, only 37 days left! Don’t burn out to quickly and Try to keep the stress level to minimal. Please.
Leave it to a guy to get major surgery a month before he gets married. Will the cast be off in time? Or do his fingers stick out enough to place a ring on?
Be kind to yourself.
Hooray for your wedding in 37 days!!! Hope SVV is all healed up by then.
Oh my goodness you are so pretty and so young! I am glad I get to live vicariously through you! Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials and on that wonderful honeymoon you got thanks to saving your miles!
oh no, SVV feel better soon!!
Welcome home! And I hope your husband-to-be is feeling much less cast-y soon and very soon.
Oh yeah, brilliant timing indeed. Well, never a dull moment in your lives I guess. Here’s to a speedy recovery.
Had a good laugh over the millionaire answer. Oh you fickle woman, you!
If you weren’t so busy, I would suggest we have a party so we can get SVV drunk and write rude words all over his cast.
One of my 4th graders just broke his arm and I was suggesting to his mom that he come up with a better story than “tripped and fell.” I started the rumor that he was fending off burglars.
Nice interview. I just might grab one of his books in an effort to get JB excited about moving to the Bay Area.
